AND THE SUN

AND THE SUN is a passionate exploration of emptiness and form through light. It is first an artistic, philosophical, and social-community practice; secondarily a studio. AND THE SUN has converged on four constituent light elements: blue sky, warm white light, clear white sunlight, and rainbow. These elements sit in inter-relationship conceptually, perceptually, and aesthetically.

These works are sculptural, photographic, and conceptual. They are curious about shape (2D and 3D), dynamics, brightness, breath, commercially fabricated versus organic forms, light physics, the spiritual dimension of creation and conception, the translation from the “realm of ideas” to the “realm of materiality”, creative technology, and contemplative practice.

To support our work we have built a software platform for programming light expressively, called Nuance. Nuance is for stages (concerts, theater), spaces (music lounges, saunas, architectural lighting, immersive experiences), and sculptures (such as our Lightboxes, and other creative technology installations).
